Every year, Thatcher's Homecoming parade goes down Church street. Its quite the town event. Many leave work to attend. It is amazing to me to see the support given to the High School. Part of the joys of living in a small town :). Well Grandma wanted us to ride with her in her golf cart and we got there and 'staked our claim' in our spot. It was really hot!! But the kids enjoyed playing around waiting for the parade to start. Once it started, we were all shocked to see how small the band was. I've heard that it used to be the 200 range. Now there was only 16!! Cambree loved the royalty cars and the girls in their beautiful gowns. She got all excited when they'd wave back to her.
The kids fought over the candy that was thrown. Everyone was so hot so it was good that the parade was really short. Its fun being able to attend these small events here and allow our kids these little experiences.
